Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Charger must be used in a well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear safety glasses and gloves when working with batteries.
  2. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet before connecting to battery.
  3. Connect red clamp (+) to positive terminal, black clamp (-) to negative terminal or grounded metal.
  4. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  5. Keep charger dry and away from flammable materials.

WARNING! Risk of explosion or acid burn. Do not smoke or create sparks near battery. Follow all safety precautions.

First-Time Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Verify battery type and condition before charging.

  1. Select battery type: Use selector switch to match battery (Standard, AGM, or GEL).
  2. Connect clamps: Ensure charger is unplugged. Connect red to positive (+), black to negative (-) terminal or chassis ground.
  3. Plug into AC outlet: Use standard 120V, 60Hz outlet.
  4. Start charging: Charger will automatically begin 5-stage process; display will show status.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps to each other. Ensure secure connections to prevent arcing.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: MODE button, Battery Type selector, Digital Display, Status LEDs (Charging, Maintenance, Fault).

Display Readouts: Voltage (V), Current (A), Charge Progress (%), Battery Status (Charging, Full, Fault).

Modes: Press MODE to toggle between Charge Mode (full 5-stage charge) and Maintenance Mode (float charging). Battery Type: Select Standard (flooded), AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat), or GEL (Gel Cell) to optimize charging algorithm. LEDs: Green (Charging), Solid Green (Maintenance), Red (Fault/Error).

Charging Procedures

For 12V lead-acid batteries in vehicles, motorcycles, lawn equipment, etc.

  1. Verify battery: Check voltage (should be above 3V for charger to recognize).
  2. Set battery type: Switch to correct setting (Standard/AGM/GEL).
  3. Connect clamps: Red to positive, black to negative or chassis ground.
  4. Plug in AC power: Charger will start automatically; display shows "CHARGING".
  5. Monitor progress: Display shows voltage, amperage, and estimated charge percentage.
  6. Completion: Charger switches to Maintenance Mode automatically; display shows "FULL".
  7. Disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove black clamp, then red clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charger may begin with Desulfation mode (pulsing current) for up to 2 hours before normal charge.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger automatically enters Float/Maintenance mode to keep battery at optimal voltage without overcharging.

  1. Automatic: No user action needed; charger maintains battery indefinitely when left connected.
  2. Manual: Press MODE button to force Maintenance Mode for long-term storage.
  3. Indicator: Green LED solid (not flashing) indicates Maintenance Mode active.

Note: Safe for continuous connection up to 30 days. For longer storage, disconnect charger and recharge monthly.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Display shows error codes if fault is detected.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse PolarityCheck clamp connections; correct polarity
E2Over TemperatureAllow charger to cool; ensure ventilation
E3Battery Voltage Too Low (<3V)Battery may be damaged; try recovery mode or replace
E4Short Circuit/ Bad CellCheck battery for damage; disconnect and retry
E5Charging TimeoutBattery not accepting charge; may need replacement

If error persists, disconnect and contact support.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth; do not use liquids.

  1. Store in dry, cool location away from direct sunlight.
  2. Coil cables neatly; avoid sharp bends.
  3. Inspect clamps and cables periodically for damage.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Never store with clamps connected to battery.
