Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Charger must be used in a well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear eye protection and avoid leaning over battery during charging.
  2. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet before connecting/disconnecting clamps.
  3. Connect positive (red) clamp to battery positive (+) terminal first.
  4. Connect negative (black) clamp to battery negative (-) terminal or vehicle chassis.
  5. Plug charger into a grounded 120V AC outlet.
  6. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  7. Keep charger dry and away from flammable materials.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Keep sparks and flames away from battery. Do not smoke near battery.

Installation & Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Ensure all components are present.

  1. Place charger on stable, dry surface near battery but away from engine and moving parts.
  2. For in-vehicle charging: Turn off ignition and all electrical accessories.
  3. Clean battery terminals to ensure good connection.
  4. Select battery type: Press MODE button to cycle through Standard, AGM, or Gel Cell.
  5. Connect clamps in correct order (positive first, then negative).
  6. Plug charger into AC outlet. Display will illuminate and show battery voltage.

CAUTION! Do not connect clamps to each other when charger is powered on.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: MODE button, RATE button (if applicable), Display, Status LEDs.

Display Icons: Battery symbol, Charging/Complete indicators, Error codes.

MODE: Selects battery type (Standard/AGM/Gel). RATE: Selects charge amperage (2A/10A/50A). Display shows: Battery voltage (e.g., 12.4V), Charge current (e.g., 8.5A), Progress bar. Status LEDs: Charging (flashing), Complete (solid), Fault (red).

Charging Procedures

Automatic charging for most applications. Manual rate selection available.

  1. Ensure battery type is correctly selected using MODE button.
  2. For automatic charging: Unit will detect battery state and apply appropriate charge profile.
  3. For manual rate: Press RATE to select 2A (trickle), 10A (standard), or 50A (engine start).
  4. Charging begins automatically. Display shows real-time voltage and current.
  5. When battery is fully charged, charger switches to Float/Maintenance mode. Complete LED illuminates.
  6. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove negative clamp, then positive clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charger may take several minutes to begin charging.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger automatically enters float mode to maintain battery.

  1. In Maintenance mode, charger monitors voltage and provides small pulses as needed.
  2. Ideal for seasonal vehicles, boats, or stored batteries.
  3. Can be left connected indefinitely without overcharging.
  4. Display shows "FLOAT" or maintenance icon when active.

Note: For long-term storage, disconnect charger from AC power after battery is fully charged.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Display may show error codes if fault is detected.

Code/DisplayMeaningAction
E1 or "REV"Reverse polarity detectedCheck clamp connections; ensure red to positive, black to negative
E2 or "OVR"Overvoltage/overheatAllow charger to cool; check battery voltage (should be below 15V)
E3 or "BAD"Faulty or sulfated batteryTest battery; replace if necessary
No DisplayNo AC power or unit failureCheck outlet; ensure plug is fully inserted; contact service
Flashing "FUL"Battery not accepting chargeBattery may be damaged or at end of life

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect clamps before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth; do not immerse.

  1. Store in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  2. Coil cables neatly to prevent damage.
  3. Inspect clamps and cables periodically for cracks or exposed wire.
  4. Keep ventilation openings clean and unobstructed.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Ensure unit is completely dry before use.
