Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place charger on stable, dry, non-flammable surface.

  1. Select location: Ensure area is well-ventilated, away from batteries and flammable materials.
  2. AC Power: Plug charger into standard 120V AC, 60Hz outlet. Ensure outlet is grounded.
  3. Battery Preparation: Ensure battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion.
  4. Battery Type Selection: Set switch to correct battery type (STANDARD, AGM, GEL).

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Work in well-ventilated area. Wear eye protection. Keep sparks and flames away.

First-Time Use

Power on charger; follow proper connection sequence.

  1. Connect to battery FIRST: Attach red clamp to positive (+) terminal, black clamp to negative (-) terminal or vehicle chassis.
  2. Plug into AC power SECOND: Insert plug into grounded outlet. Charger will begin automatic diagnosis.
  3. Monitor display: Digital readout will show battery voltage, then charging amps and status.
  4. Automatic completion: Charger will switch to float/maintenance mode when battery is fully charged.

CAUTION! Always connect clamps to battery before plugging into AC power to prevent sparking.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: Digital display, MODE button, Battery Type selector, POWER indicator.

Display Indicators: Battery icon (charging), Full Charge icon, Fault icon, Voltage readout, Amp readout.

Modes: Press MODE button to cycle through CHARGE (regular), BOOST (fast charge), and MAINTAIN (float mode). Battery Type: Switch between STANDARD (wet/flooded), AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat), GEL (gel cell). Status Lights: Green (standby/charged), Red (charging), Flashing Red (error/fault).

Connecting to Battery

Always connect to battery before AC power. Use proper clamp connection sequence.

  1. Turn off vehicle ignition and all electrical loads.
  2. Connect RED clamp to POSITIVE (+) battery terminal.
  3. Connect BLACK clamp to NEGATIVE (-) battery terminal or clean, unpainted metal on chassis.
  4. Plug charger AC cord into grounded outlet.
  5. Select battery type and desired mode if not automatic.

Tip: For maintenance charging on stored vehicles, disconnect battery negative terminal first for safety.

Charging Process

Fully automatic 3-stage charging.

  1. Bulk Stage: Delivers maximum current until battery reaches ~80% charge.
  2. Absorption Stage: Voltage constant, current tapers as battery nears full charge.
  3. Float Stage: Maintains battery at full charge with low voltage; prevents overcharging.
  4. Monitoring: Display shows current stage, voltage, and charging amps.
  5. Completion: Charger automatically switches to float/maintenance mode; FULL icon appears.
  6. Disconnect: Unplug AC power FIRST, then remove clamps (black first, then red).

WARNING! Do not disconnect clamps while charger is powered on. Always unplug AC first.

Maintenance Mode

Float/maintenance mode keeps battery at optimal charge during storage.

Activation: After full charge, charger automatically enters float mode. Indicator: Green light or "FLOAT" on display. Duration: Can remain connected indefinitely without overcharging. Use: Ideal for seasonal vehicles, boats, RVs, and infrequently used batteries.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth; keep vents clear of dust.

Storage: Store in cool, dry place. Coil cords neatly. Avoid extreme temperatures.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Do not cover vents during operation.
