Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Charger produces hydrogen gas—keep away from flames/sparks.

  1. Use in well-ventilated area. Do not cover charger during operation.
  2. Wear eye protection. Avoid touching battery acid.
  3. Connect to AC power only after clamps are securely attached to battery.
  4. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  5. Keep children and pets away from charger and battery.

WARNING! Risk of explosion or electric shock. Follow all safety precautions. Do not disassemble charger.

Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure battery is in a stable, dry location.

  1. Prepare battery: Clean terminals if corroded. Ensure vent caps are secure (if applicable).
  2. Connect clamps: FIRST attach RED clamp to POSITIVE (+) battery terminal. THEN attach BLACK clamp to NEGATIVE (-) terminal or grounded metal on vehicle frame.
  3. Plug into AC outlet: Use a grounded 120V, 60Hz outlet. Charger will automatically begin analysis.
  4. Monitor LEDs: Refer to indicator chart for charging status.

CAUTION! Always connect clamps in the specified order to prevent sparks. Ensure clamps have firm contact.

Controls and Indicators

LED Indicator Panel: Provides visual status of the charging process.

LED Status Guide:

Buttons: MODE button (if equipped) toggles between standard and AGM/Gel charging profiles.

Charging Procedure

For a standard 12V automotive battery.

  1. Ensure vehicle ignition and all accessories are OFF.
  2. Connect clamps in correct order (RED first to +, BLACK to - or chassis ground).
  3. Plug charger into AC outlet. The POWER LED will illuminate.
  4. Charger will analyze battery: If voltage is very low, it may enter Recondition mode first.
  5. CHARGING LED will flash during bulk/absorption stages.
  6. When battery is nearly full, charger switches to float/maintenance (MAINTAINING LED solid green).
  7. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (<2V), charger may take several minutes to initiate. Be patient.

Maintenance Mode

The charger automatically enters float/maintenance mode after the battery is fully charged. This trickle charge keeps the battery at optimal voltage for long-term storage (e.g., winter, boats, RVs).

Note: Always check battery electrolyte levels (on flooded batteries) before long-term maintenance charging.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with a dry cloth. Store in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain, snow, or liquids. Do not store near heat sources or flammable materials. Coil cords neatly to prevent damage.
