Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. For lead-acid batteries only.

  1. Work in well-ventilated area: Batteries produce explosive gases.
  2. Wear eye protection: Shield eyes when working near batteries.
  3. Check battery: Ensure it's 6V or 12V lead-acid type. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  4. Disconnect battery: Turn off all accessories and disconnect battery cables if possible.
  5. Connect correctly: RED clamp to POSITIVE (+) terminal, BLACK clamp to NEGATIVE (-) terminal.
  6. Power sequence: Connect to battery FIRST, then plug into AC outlet.

WARNING! Risk of explosion or acid burn. Do not smoke or create sparks near battery. Keep charger dry.

First-Time Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Verify included parts.

  1. Prepare battery: Clean terminals if corroded. Ensure battery is in a stable, level location.
  2. Select mode: For automatic charging, no selection needed—unit auto-detects. For recondition or maintainer mode, press MODE button.
  3. Connect clamps: Attach RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-) terminal. Ensure secure connection.
  4. Plug in: Insert AC plug into 120V outlet. Charger will begin automatic diagnosis and charging.
  5. Monitor: Digital display will show progress. Charger will automatically switch to float when complete.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps to each other. Ensure clamps do not touch metal surfaces other than battery terminals.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: MODE button, ENTER button, Display, Status LEDs.

Display Icons: Battery % (0-100%), Voltage (V), Current (A), Mode Indicator (AUTO, 6V, 12V, AGM, GEL, RECOND, MAINTAIN).

Buttons: MODE – cycles through charge modes (Auto, AGM, Gel, Recondition, Maintain). ENTER – selects and confirms mode.

LED Indicators: POWER (green), CHARGING (flashing green), COMPLETE (solid green), FAULT (red).

Charging Procedure

Automatic charging for most batteries.

  1. Ensure battery voltage is above 3V for detection. If below, use RECONDITION mode.
  2. Connect clamps to battery terminals (RED to +, BLACK to -).
  3. Plug AC cord into outlet. Unit will beep once and display detected battery voltage.
  4. Charger automatically begins bulk charging (display shows current in amps).
  5. Progresses to absorption stage (voltage constant, current decreases).
  6. When battery is 100%, switches to float/maintain mode (display shows "FULL" or "MAINT").
  7. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (<10.5V), charger may take several minutes to recognize battery before beginning charge.

Maintenance Mode

Float/maintain mode keeps battery at optimal voltage during storage.

  1. Connect charger to battery as in normal charging.
  2. Press MODE until "MAINTAIN" appears on display.
  3. Press ENTER to select. Display shows "MAINT" and battery voltage.
  4. Charger will maintain battery indefinitely without overcharging.
  5. Ideal for seasonal vehicles, boats, motorcycles, etc.

Note: Maintenance mode supplies up to 1.5A as needed. It is safe for long-term connection.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Display shows error codes if fault is detected.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse polarityCheck clamp connections (RED to +, BLACK to -)
E2Battery voltage too low (<3V)Use RECONDITION mode or replace battery
E3Battery voltage too high (>18V)Disconnect; check battery or vehicle electrical system
E4OverheatAllow charger to cool in well-ventilated area
E5Short circuit or bad connectionCheck clamps and battery terminals for clean contact

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth; do not use liquids.

Store in dry location, coiled cords neatly. Avoid extreme temperatures.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Do not disassemble charger.
