Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, dry surface away from flammable materials.

  1. Position charger: Ensure unit is on stable, level surface with ventilation.
  2. Connect AC power: Plug power cord into 120V AC outlet.
  3. Prepare battery: Ensure battery is in well-ventilated area, remove caps if applicable.
  4. Connect clamps: Attach red clamp to positive (+) terminal, black to negative (-).

WARNING! Keep away from sparks, flames, and metal surfaces. Wear eye protection when handling batteries.

First-Time Setup

Power on charger; observe LED indicators.

  1. Connect to battery: Ensure proper polarity (red to +, black to -).
  2. Automatic detection: Charger will detect battery voltage automatically.
  3. Select mode: For maintenance charging, unit will automatically enter float mode when full.
  4. Monitor progress: LED indicators show charging status (flashing = charging, solid = complete).

CAUTION! Do not connect to frozen or damaged batteries. Ensure area is well-ventilated.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Fully automatic operation with LED status indicators.

LED Indicators: POWER (green), CHARGING (flashing red), MAINTENANCE (solid green), FAULT (flashing yellow).

Operation: Unit automatically selects charge rate based on battery condition. No manual settings required for standard use. For long-term storage maintenance, unit automatically switches to float mode when battery reaches full charge.

Connecting to Battery

Always connect to battery before plugging into AC power.

  1. Turn off vehicle ignition and all accessories.
  2. Connect red clamp to positive (+) battery terminal.
  3. Connect black clamp to negative (-) battery terminal or clean metal ground.
  4. Plug AC cord into outlet; LEDs will illuminate.
  5. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove black clamp, then red clamp.

Tip: Ensure clamps have good metal-to-metal contact with terminals.

Charging Process

Automatic multi-stage charging: Bulk, Absorption, Float.

  1. Bulk Charge: Delivers maximum current to quickly charge battery.
  2. Absorption Charge: Tapers current as battery approaches full charge.
  3. Float Maintenance: Maintains battery at optimal voltage without overcharging.
  4. Completion: LED changes from flashing red (charging) to solid green (maintenance).
  5. Automatic Recharge: If battery voltage drops, charger automatically resumes charging.

WARNING! Do not cover charger during operation. Monitor for excessive heat.

Maintenance Mode

Float mode maintains battery for extended periods (ideal for seasonal vehicles).

When battery reaches full charge, unit automatically switches to float maintenance (solid green LED). Can be left connected indefinitely for battery maintenance. Automatically cycles between maintenance and recharge as needed.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth only.

CAUTION! Do not immerse in water or use liquid cleaners. Store in dry location when not in use.
