Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Contains lead-acid battery chemicals.

  1. Work in well-ventilated area: Batteries generate explosive gases.
  2. Wear safety glasses and gloves: Protect from acid and sparks.
  3. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries: Risk of explosion.
  4. Disconnect AC power before connecting/disconnecting clamps.
  5. Connect clamps correctly: RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-).

WARNING! Risk of electric shock or explosion. Follow all safety precautions. Keep away from children.

Getting Started

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Ensure battery is in safe, stable location.

  1. Prepare battery: Clean terminals, remove caps (if applicable), check electrolyte level.
  2. Connect clamps: FIRST connect RED clamp to battery positive (+). THEN connect BLACK clamp to battery negative (-) or vehicle chassis.
  3. Plug into AC outlet: Use grounded 120V, 60Hz outlet.
  4. Select mode: Use MODE button to choose standard charge or maintenance.
  5. Monitor display: Charger will automatically detect voltage and begin charging.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps in reverse order. Ensure firm connection to clean metal.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: MODE button, Display Screen, Status LEDs. Display shows: Battery Voltage, Charge Stage, Amps, Error Codes.

Display Icons: 6V/12V indicator, Charging (flashing), Fully Charged (solid), Fault (error code).

Modes: CHARGE (full charge cycle), MAINTAIN (float maintenance). Charging Stages: BULK (constant current), ABSORPTION (constant voltage), FLOAT (maintenance voltage).

Charging Procedure

Automatic operation once connected properly.

  1. Ensure battery terminals are clean and charger is unplugged from AC.
  2. Connect clamps: RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-).
  3. Plug charger into AC outlet. Display will light up.
  4. Charger automatically detects battery voltage (6V or 12V).
  5. Press MODE to select CHARGE (for full charge) or MAINTAIN (for storage).
  6. Charger begins Bulk stage (display shows charging current).
  7. Progresses to Absorption, then Float stage automatically.
  8. When fully charged, display shows "FULL" or solid green LED.
  9. Disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charger may take several hours. Monitor display for progress.

Maintenance Mode

For long-term battery storage (e.g., seasonal vehicles, boats).

  1. Connect charger as described in Charging Procedure.
  2. Press MODE until "MAINTAIN" appears on display.
  3. Charger will charge battery to full, then switch to float maintenance (trickle charge).
  4. Maintains optimal voltage without overcharging. Can be left connected indefinitely.
  5. Display shows "MAINT" when in maintenance mode.

WARNING! Always monitor battery periodically. Do not use maintenance mode on non-rechargeable batteries.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Display shows error codes if fault is detected.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse PolarityCheck clamp connections (RED to +, BLACK to -).
E2Over VoltageBattery voltage too high. Disconnect and check battery.
E3Under VoltageBattery voltage too low. Battery may be deeply discharged or damaged.
E4Over TemperatureCharger overheated. Allow to cool in well-ventilated area.
E5Short Circuit / Bad BatteryCheck battery for short or internal damage.

If error persists, disconnect and contact support.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth only; do not immerse in water.

Store in dry, cool place. Keep clamps clean and free of corrosion. Periodically inspect power cord for damage.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain, snow, or liquids. Do not store near flammable materials.
