Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Use in well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear eye protection and gloves when working with batteries.
  2. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  3. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet before connecting/disconnecting clamps.
  4. Connect red clamp to positive (+) terminal first, then black to negative (-) or grounded metal.
  5. Keep charger dry and away from flammable materials.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Keep sparks and flames away from battery. Do not smoke near battery.

First-Time Setup & Connection

Power on charger; follow connection sequence.

  1. Prepare battery: Ensure battery is in a stable, well-ventilated location. Clean terminals if corroded.
  2. AC connection: Plug charger into a standard 120V AC outlet. Display will light up.
  3. Battery connection: Connect RED clamp to battery POSITIVE (+) terminal. Connect BLACK clamp to battery NEGATIVE (-) terminal or a grounded metal part of the vehicle chassis.
  4. Automatic detection: Charger will detect battery voltage (6V or 12V) and begin charging automatically.
  5. Monitor display: Digital readout will show voltage and charge progress.

CAUTION! Always connect clamps in the correct order to prevent sparks.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Access functions via front panel. Front Panel: POWER LED, MODE button (if applicable), Digital Display.

Display Indicators: Battery Voltage (e.g., 12.6V), Charge Percentage (0%-100%), Status Icons (Charging, Full, Error).

Charging Modes: Automatic (default), Manual Override (if equipped). Settings: None required - fully automatic. Error Codes: Display shows codes like E1 (Reverse Polarity), E2 (Bad Battery), E3 (Over Temperature).

Charging Process

Supports automatic charging for discharged or maintenance charging.

  1. Bulk Charge: Delivers maximum current to raise battery voltage.
  2. Absorption Charge: Voltage held constant, current tapers as battery nears full charge.
  3. Float/Maintenance: Reduces voltage to safe level to maintain full charge without overcharging.
  4. Completion: Display shows "FULL" or 100%. Charger may switch to maintenance mode automatically.
  5. Disconnect: Unplug from AC outlet first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charging may take several hours. Monitor display for progress.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger automatically enters float/maintenance mode to keep battery at optimal charge during storage.

  1. Leave connected: Charger can be left connected to battery indefinitely when plugged into AC.
  2. Automatic cycling: Periodically checks voltage and delivers small charge if needed.
  3. Ideal for seasonal vehicles: Boats, motorcycles, RVs, classic cars.

Note: Always use in a dry location and ensure ventilation around battery.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Digital display shows error codes if a problem is detected.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse PolarityCheck clamp connections (Red to +, Black to -)
E2Bad Battery / No ConnectionEnsure clamps have good contact; battery may be unusable
E3Over TemperatureAllow charger and battery to cool; move to cooler location
E4Over VoltageDisconnect and reconnect; check battery voltage manually
--Display BlankCheck AC power; ensure outlet is live

Care & Storage

Unplug and clean after each use. Store in dry, cool place.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe casing with dry cloth. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  2. Cord care: Avoid sharp bends, kinks, or pulling by the cord.
  3. Clamp care: Keep clamps clean; wipe off any corrosion after use.
  4. Storage: Coil cords neatly and store in original box or dry shelf.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain, snow, or excessive moisture. Do not store near heat sources.
