Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Use in well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear eye protection and avoid leaning over battery.
  2. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  3. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC before connecting clamps.
  4. Connect RED clamp to POSITIVE (+) terminal first, then BLACK to NEGATIVE (-) or grounded chassis.
  5. Plug charger into AC outlet only after clamps are securely connected.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Keep sparks and flames away. Do not disconnect clamps while charger is powered on.

First-Time Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Read manual thoroughly.

  1. Select location: Dry, stable surface away from battery and engine.
  2. Prepare battery: Clean terminals, ensure vent caps are secure (if applicable).
  3. For in-vehicle charging: Turn off ignition and all electrical loads.
  4. Connect clamps following safety sequence (RED to +, BLACK to -).
  5. Plug charger into 120V AC outlet. Unit will power on and begin automatic diagnosis.

CAUTION! Never connect to a battery that is not 6V or 12V lead-acid. Ensure clamps do not touch each other or metal surfaces.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: Digital Display, MODE Button, Battery Type Indicator LEDs.

Display Readouts: Battery Voltage (e.g., 12.6V), Charging Status (e.g., "CHG"), Maintenance Mode ("FLOAT"), Error Codes (e.g., "E1").

Mode Button: Press to cycle between battery types (Standard/AGM/Gel). Corresponding LED will illuminate. Charging Process Indicators: "CHG" (Charging), "FLOAT" (Maintenance), "FUL" (Fully Charged).

Charging Procedure

Automatic operation after correct connection.

  1. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC.
  2. Connect clamps to battery terminals (RED to +, BLACK to -).
  3. Plug charger into AC outlet. Display will light up.
  4. Charger automatically detects battery voltage (6V or 12V).
  5. Press MODE button to select correct battery type (Standard, AGM, Gel).
  6. Charger begins multi-stage process: Bulk (constant current), Absorption (constant voltage), then Float (maintenance).
  7. Monitor display: "CHG" flashes during charge, solid "FUL" indicates complete charge.
  8. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (< 2V), charger may display error. Try a manual start or consult troubleshooting.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, unit switches to Float Mode to maintain optimal charge indefinitely.

  1. Display shows "FLOAT".
  2. Charger monitors voltage and provides tiny pulses if needed.
  3. Safe for long-term connection (weeks/months).
  4. Ideal for seasonal vehicles, boats, lawn equipment.

Note: Periodically check connections and battery condition during long-term storage.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Digital display shows error codes for fault conditions.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse PolarityCheck clamp connections. Disconnect and reconnect correctly.
E2Battery Voltage Too Low/HighCheck if battery is below 2V or non-6V/12V. Replace battery if faulty.
E3Over TemperatureAllow charger and battery to cool. Move to cooler location.
E4Charger Internal FaultUnplug, wait 1 minute, retry. If persists, contact service.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect clamps before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth only.

Store in a cool, dry place. Coil cords loosely to prevent damage.

CAUTION! Do not immerse in water or use chemical cleaners. Keep ventilation slots clear.
