Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Charger contains electrical parts that can cause serious injury.

  1. Use in well-ventilated area to prevent gas explosion.
  2. Wear eye protection when working near batteries.
  3. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  4. Keep charger dry and away from flammable materials.
  5. Connect to AC power only after attaching battery clamps.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Battery can explode if charger is improperly connected. Always connect positive (red) clamp to positive terminal first.

Getting Started

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure battery is in safe, stable location.

  1. Prepare battery: Clean terminals and remove corrosion if present.
  2. Check electrolyte levels (non-sealed batteries only).
  3. Ensure battery voltage matches charger capability (6V or 12V).
  4. Connect charger to battery before plugging into AC outlet.

CAUTION! Do not disconnect clamps while charger is powered on. Always unplug AC cord first.

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel LED Indicators:

POWER (Green): Lit when AC power connected.
CHARGING (Red): Lit during active charging phase.
MAINTENANCE (Green): Lit when battery is fully charged and in float mode.
FAULT (Red): Flashes for reverse connection, bad battery, or other fault.

Automatic Operation: No user controls. Charger automatically detects battery voltage and selects charge mode.

Charging Procedure

For 6V or 12V lead-acid batteries.

  1. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet.
  2. Connect red clamp to positive (+) battery terminal.
  3. Connect black clamp to negative (-) battery terminal or vehicle chassis.
  4. Plug charger into 120V AC outlet.
  5. POWER LED will light. CHARGING LED will light during charge cycle.
  6. When battery is fully charged, CHARGING LED turns off and MAINTENANCE LED lights.
  7. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove black clamp, then red clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charger may take several hours to complete charging cycle.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger switches to float/maintenance mode.

  1. MAINTENANCE LED indicates charger is monitoring battery voltage.
  2. Charger supplies small current as needed to maintain full charge.
  3. Can be left connected indefinitely for seasonal storage.
  4. Automatically prevents overcharging.

Note: For long-term storage, check battery and charger periodically.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect before cleaning. Store in dry location.

  1. Wipe exterior with dry cloth only.
  2. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  3. Inspect cables regularly for damage.
  4. Store in original packaging if possible.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Keep away from heat sources.
