Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Contains lead-acid battery safety precautions.

  1. Use in well-ventilated area: Batteries generate explosive gases.
  2. Wear eye protection: Shield eyes when working near batteries.
  3. Check battery type: Only charge 12V lead-acid batteries (standard, AGM, gel).
  4. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  5. Keep charger dry: Do not expose to rain or moisture.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Keep sparks, flames, and smoking materials away from battery area. Connect and disconnect clamps carefully.

Installation & Setup

Prepare charger and battery for connection.

  1. Position charger: Place on stable, dry surface away from battery.
  2. Prepare battery: Remove battery caps (if applicable) and ensure vent caps are tight.
  3. Clean terminals: Remove corrosion from battery terminals before connecting.
  4. Connect to AC power: Plug charger into 120V AC outlet (charger remains off).
  5. Connect clamps: RED clamp to POSITIVE (+) terminal, BLACK clamp to NEGATIVE (-) terminal.
  6. Charger activates automatically: LED indicators will show charging status.

CAUTION! Always connect charger to battery before plugging into AC outlet. Do not connect to AC power first.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

LED Indicator Panel: Three status LEDs show charging progress and faults.

LED Indicators:

Automatic Functions: No manual controls - charger automatically selects charge rate based on battery condition.

Charging Procedure

Follow these steps for safe and effective battery charging.

  1. Preparation: Ensure battery is at room temperature. Clean terminals if corroded.
  2. Connection: Connect RED clamp to positive (+) terminal first, then BLACK clamp to negative (-) terminal or grounded metal.
  3. Power On: Plug charger into 120V AC outlet. POWER LED will illuminate.
  4. Charging Phase: CHARGING LED will illuminate red. Charger delivers maximum current.
  5. Absorption Phase: Charger reduces current as battery approaches full charge.
  6. Maintenance Phase: When battery is fully charged, CHARGING LED turns off and MAINTAINING LED illuminates green.
  7. Disconnection: Unplug from AC outlet first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charging may take 24 hours or more. Leave connected until MAINTAINING LED illuminates.

Maintenance Mode

The SC1323 automatically switches to float maintenance mode to keep batteries at optimal charge.

Note: For optimal results, charge battery fully before placing in long-term maintenance mode.

Care & Storage

Proper care ensures long charger life and safe operation.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe exterior with dry cloth only. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  2. Clamp Care: Keep clamps clean and free of corrosion. Replace if damaged.
  3. Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect AC cord and clamp wires for damage.
  4. Storage: Store in cool, dry place. Coil cords neatly to prevent damage.
  5. Winter Use: Allow charger to reach room temperature before use if stored in cold conditions.

CAUTION! Never immerse charger in water or other liquids. Do not operate with damaged cords or clamps.
