Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Use in well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear eye protection and avoid leaning over battery.
  2. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  3. Ensure charger is unplugged before connecting/disconnecting clamps.
  4. Connect red clamp to positive (+) terminal first, then black to negative (-) or grounded metal.
  5. Keep sparks, flames, and smoking materials away from battery.

WARNING! Battery gases can explode. Do not use near flammable materials. Use only as directed.

Installation & Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Place on stable, dry surface.

  1. Select Voltage: Set 6V/12V switch to match battery voltage.
  2. Select Battery Type: Press BATTERY TYPE button to cycle through options (Standard, AGM, Gel, Deep-Cycle).
  3. Connect Clamps: With charger UNPLUGGED, connect red clamp to battery positive (+), black clamp to negative (-) or vehicle chassis ground.
  4. Plug In: Connect AC power cord to 120V outlet. Charger will begin automatic diagnosis and charging.

CAUTION! Ensure clamps do not touch each other or any metal surface after connection to battery.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: Digital Display, BATTERY TYPE Button, MODE Button, 6V/12V Switch.

Display Indicators: Battery Voltage (e.g., 12.6V), Charging Amps (e.g., 8.5A), Status Codes (CHG=Charging, FUL=Full, ERR=Error).

Controls: BATTERY TYPE - Selects battery chemistry. MODE - Toggles between Charge, Maintain, and Recondition modes. 6V/12V Switch - Sets output voltage. Automatic operation begins once AC power is connected and clamps are properly attached.

Charging Procedures

For 12V Automotive Battery (Standard Type):

  1. Set switch to 12V. Press BATTERY TYPE until "STD" appears.
  2. With charger unplugged, connect clamps (red to +, black to -).
  3. Plug into AC outlet. Display will show battery voltage, then "CHG" and charging amps.
  4. Charger automatically progresses through Bulk (high amps), Absorption (tapering), and Float (maintenance) stages.
  5. When battery is fully charged, display shows "FUL" and 0.0A. Charger switches to Float mode.
  6. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord, then remove black clamp, then red clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (<10V), charger may enter recovery mode automatically.

Maintenance Mode

Float maintenance keeps battery at optimal charge for storage.

  1. After full charge ("FUL"), charger automatically enters Float mode.
  2. Display shows "FUL" and maintains battery with micro-charges as needed.
  3. Can be left connected indefinitely for seasonal vehicles, boats, etc.
  4. To force Maintain mode: Press MODE button until "MAINTAIN" appears on display.

Note: Maintenance mode is safe for AGM and Gel batteries, preventing overcharging.

Battery Reconditioning

Reconditioning (Desulfation) mode attempts to recover sulfated batteries.

  1. Connect charger to battery as normal.
  2. Press MODE button until "RECOND" appears on display.
  3. Charger will apply controlled pulses to break down sulfate crystals.
  4. Process may take several hours; display will show progress.
  5. After reconditioning, charger automatically switches to normal charge cycle.

WARNING! Not all batteries can be recovered. Do not use on new or healthy batteries unnecessarily.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect clamps before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth. Store in cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Keep clamps clean and free of corrosion.
