Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Charger contains electrical parts that can cause shock or fire.

  1. Use in dry, well-ventilated area away from flammable materials.
  2. Do not expose to rain or moisture.
  3. Connect to grounded 120V AC outlet only.
  4. Wear eye protection when working near batteries.
  5. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  6. Keep children and pets away during operation.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Battery charging produces hydrogen gas. Keep sparks, flames, and smoking away from battery area.

Installation & Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Ensure all parts are included.

  1. Place charger on stable, non-flammable surface near battery.
  2. Plug AC cord into grounded 120V outlet (do not turn on yet).
  3. For in-vehicle charging: Turn off ignition and all electrical loads.
  4. For bench charging: Remove battery from vehicle if possible.
  5. Clean battery terminals before connection.

CAUTION! Never connect charger to AC power before connecting to battery. Always connect clamps to battery first.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: POWER button, MODE button, Digital Display, Status LEDs.

Display Icons: Battery % (0-100%), Voltage (V), Current (A), Charging Stage (BULK/ABSORPTION/FLOAT), Error Codes.

Buttons: POWER - Turns charger on/off. MODE - Cycles between CHARGE (normal), MAINTAIN (float), and RECONDITION (recovery) modes.

LED Indicators: POWER (green), CHARGING (flashing amber), COMPLETE (solid green), FAULT (red).

Charging Procedure

Follow these steps for safe, effective charging:

  1. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet.
  2. Connect red clamp (+) to battery positive terminal.
  3. Connect black clamp (-) to battery negative terminal or vehicle chassis ground.
  4. Plug AC cord into wall outlet.
  5. Press POWER button; charger will automatically detect battery voltage.
  6. Display will show battery voltage and begin charging automatically.
  7. Charger progresses through stages: BULK (constant current), ABSORPTION (constant voltage), FLOAT (maintenance).
  8. When fully charged, display shows "FULL" or "100%" and COMPLETE LED lights.
  9. To disconnect: Unplug AC cord first, then remove black clamp, then red clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (<2V), charger may enter recovery mode automatically.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger automatically switches to Float/Maintenance mode to keep battery at optimal charge indefinitely without overcharging.

  1. In Maintenance mode, charger monitors voltage and provides small pulses as needed.
  2. Display shows "FLOAT" or "MAINT" with battery percentage.
  3. Ideal for seasonal vehicles, boats, RVs, or stored equipment.
  4. Can be left connected for months safely.

Note: For long-term storage, ensure battery is in ventilated area and terminals are clean.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

If error occurs, display shows code and FAULT LED lights.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse polarity detectedCheck clamp connections; correct red/black positions
E2OverheatAllow charger to cool; ensure ventilation
E3Battery voltage too low (<2V)Try recovery mode; battery may be damaged
E4Battery voltage too high (>16V)Check battery condition; may be overcharged
E5Short circuit or bad connectionCheck clamps and cables; clean terminals
E6Charger internal faultUnplug; contact customer service

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth only.

  1. Store in dry, cool location away from direct sunlight.
  2. Keep clamps clean; wipe with baking soda solution if corroded, then dry thoroughly.
  3. Coil cords neatly to prevent damage.
  4. Do not store with clamps connected to battery.

CAUTION! Never immerse in water or use chemical cleaners. Do not expose to temperatures above 140°F (60°C).
