Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Use in well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear safety glasses and gloves when working with batteries.
  2. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet before connecting to battery.
  3. Connect positive (red) clamp to battery positive (+) terminal first.
  4. Connect negative (black) clamp to vehicle chassis or engine block, away from battery.
  5. Keep charger dry and away from flammable materials.

WARNING! Risk of explosive gases. Do not smoke or create sparks near battery. Connect clamps in correct order to prevent arcing.

Initial Setup & Connections

Prepare charger and battery for first use.

  1. Select battery type: Use BATTERY TYPE button to choose Standard, AGM, Gel, or Deep-Cycle.
  2. Connect clamps: Ensure charger is OFF and unplugged. Connect RED clamp to battery positive (+). Connect BLACK clamp to clean, unpainted metal on chassis or engine block.
  3. Plug into AC outlet: Use grounded 120V, 60Hz outlet.
  4. Start charging: Press MODE button to select CHARGE or ENGINE START.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps directly to each other. Ensure connections are secure and corrosion-free.

Charging Process

Automatic charging adjusts based on battery condition.

  1. Connect properly and plug in AC power.
  2. Unit performs self-test; display shows battery voltage.
  3. Bulk Stage: Delivers high current until ~80% charged.
  4. Absorption Stage: Voltage constant, current tapers.
  5. Float Stage: Maintains full charge with minimal current.
  6. Display shows "FULL" when charging is complete.
  7. Unplug AC cord, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, charger may take several hours. If "FAULT" appears, check connections and battery condition.

Engine Start Mode

Use to provide extra power to start vehicle with weak battery.

  1. Ensure charger is connected correctly to battery and chassis.
  2. Plug into AC outlet.
  3. Press MODE button until "ENGINE START" appears on display.
  4. Wait 2-3 minutes for charger to supply power to battery.
  5. Attempt to start vehicle. Crank for no more than 3-5 seconds.
  6. If vehicle doesn't start, wait 3 minutes before retrying.
  7. Once started, immediately press POWER to turn charger off.
  8. Unplug AC cord, then disconnect clamps (black first).

WARNING! Do not use Engine Start mode as a battery charger. Do not leave connected after engine starts. Avoid continuous cranking beyond 5 seconds.

Battery Maintenance

Use FLOAT mode for long-term maintenance. Battery Recondition mode for sulfated batteries (select from MODE menu if available).

Care & Storage

Unplug and clean after each use. Wipe with dry cloth. Store in cool, dry place. Coil cords neatly.
