Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Use in well-ventilated area.

  1. Wear safety glasses and gloves when working with batteries.
  2. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet before connecting to battery.
  3. Connect red clamp to positive (+) battery terminal first, then black clamp to negative (-) terminal or grounded metal.
  4. Plug charger into a grounded 120V AC outlet.
  5. Keep charger away from water, rain, or moist conditions.

WARNING! Risk of explosion. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries. Keep sparks and flames away from battery.

First-Time Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Verify charger and cables are undamaged.

  1. Select location: Dry, stable surface near battery but away from engine and moving parts.
  2. Prepare battery: Clean terminals if corroded. Ensure battery is at room temperature.
  3. Set battery type: Press "Battery Type" button to match your battery (Standard, AGM, Gel).
  4. Connect clamps: RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-) or vehicle chassis.
  5. Plug in AC power: Connect to 120V outlet. Charger will begin automatic diagnosis.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps directly to each other. Ensure proper polarity to avoid damage.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: Digital Display, Battery Type Buttons, Mode Button, Power/Status LEDs.

Display Readouts: Voltage (V), Amperage (A), Charge Mode (BULK, ABSORPTION, FLOAT), Error Codes.

LED Indicators: POWER (green), CHARGING (flashing green), COMPLETE (solid green), FAULT (red).

Buttons: BATTERY TYPE (cycle through Standard/AGM/Gel), MODE (toggle between 30A Fast Charge and 2A Maintenance).

Charging Procedure

Automatic charging for discharged or maintenance charging.

  1. Verify battery voltage (display shows ~12.6V for full 12V battery).
  2. Select correct battery type using BATTERY TYPE button.
  3. For fast charge, ensure MODE is set to 30A. For trickle, select 2A.
  4. Charger automatically progresses through stages:
    • BULK: High-current charge until ~80% capacity.
    • ABSORPTION: Voltage constant, current tapers.
    • FLOAT: Maintains full charge without overcharging.
  5. When COMPLETE LED lights, battery is fully charged. Unplug AC cord, then remove clamps (black first).

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (<10V), charger may enter "recovery" mode with lower current.

Maintenance Mode

Use to maintain charge over long periods (winter storage, RVs, boats).

  1. Connect clamps and plug in as normal.
  2. Press MODE button until display shows "2A MAINT".
  3. Charger will float charge, automatically topping off as needed.
  4. Can be left connected indefinitely for battery maintenance.

Note: Maintenance mode is for 12V batteries only. Not for 6V applications.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

Display shows error codes if fault is detected.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse PolarityCheck clamp connections (red to +, black to -)
E2OverheatAllow charger to cool; ensure ventilation
E3Battery Voltage Too LowCheck battery (may be damaged or below 3V)
E4Battery Voltage Too HighDisconnect; check for 24V battery or wiring issue
E5Short Circuit / Bad BatteryInspect battery and cables for damage

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth; do not use liquids.

Store in dry location, away from extreme temperatures. Coil cables neatly to prevent damage.

CAUTION! Do not disassemble charger. No user-serviceable parts inside.
