Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Failure to follow can result in fire, electric shock, or injury.

  1. Use in well-ventilated area: Batteries produce explosive gases.
  2. Wear eye protection: Shield eyes when working near batteries.
  3. Check battery condition: Do not charge damaged, leaking, or frozen batteries.
  4. Disconnect AC power before connecting/disconnecting clamps.
  5. Connect clamps properly: RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-) or grounded metal.
  6. Keep charger dry: Do not expose to rain, snow, or liquids.

WARNING! Never lean over battery during charging or engine start. Keep sparks and flames away.

First-Time Setup

Unpack charger and inspect for damage. Ensure all parts are included.

  1. Place charger: Set on stable, dry, level surface near battery but away from engine.
  2. AC Power: Plug into grounded 120V AC, 60Hz outlet. Ensure power is OFF.
  3. Battery Prep: Clean battery terminals. Remove caps from vented batteries (if applicable).
  4. Connect Clamps: With AC power OFF, connect RED clamp to battery positive (+). Connect BLACK clamp to battery negative (-) or clean vehicle chassis ground.
  5. Power On: Turn charger power switch ON. Unit will auto-detect battery voltage.

CAUTION! Ensure area is well-ventilated. Do not connect to a installed battery if vehicle is running.

  7. When charging is complete, display will show "FULL" or "100%".
  8. Turn POWER OFF. Unplug AC cord.
  9. Disconnect BLACK clamp first, then RED clamp from battery.

Tip: For maintenance charging (e.g., over winter), use 2A mode. Monitor periodically.

Engine Start Function

Use only for starting vehicles with discharged batteries.

  1. Connect clamps to battery as in normal charging (RED to +, BLACK to - or chassis).
  2. Ensure charger is NOT plugged into AC power.
  3. Turn vehicle ignition key to ON (do not start yet).
  4. Press and hold the ENGINE START button on the charger.
  5. While holding the button, have an assistant crank the engine (turn key to START).
  6. Release ENGINE START button as soon as engine starts.
  7. Immediately disconnect charger clamps: BLACK first, then RED.

WARNING! Do not use Engine Start mode for more than 5 seconds continuously. Allow 3 minutes to cool between attempts. Never use while charger is plugged into AC outlet.

Maintenance & Storage

Unplug and clean after each use. Store in a cool, dry place.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  2. Clamp Care: Keep clamps clean and free of corrosion. Light sanding if necessary.
