Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. This charger produces high currents.

  1. WORK AREA: Use in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep away from rain, moisture, and flammable materials.
  2. PERSONAL SAFETY: Wear eye protection. Do not touch clamps together or to the charger case.
  3. BATTERY: Ensure battery is a 6V or 12V lead-acid type. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  4. CONNECTIONS: Connect to battery BEFORE plugging into AC outlet. Follow RED to POSITIVE (+), BLACK to NEGATIVE (-) or grounded vehicle frame.
  5. FIRE/EXPLOSION RISK: Batteries produce explosive gases. Keep sparks and flames away.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety instructions can result in severe injury, fire, or damage to equipment.

First-Time Setup & Operation

Initial setup for a standard 12V automotive battery.

  1. Preparation: Turn off vehicle and all accessories. Clean battery terminals.
  2. Connection: Connect RED clamp to battery POSITIVE (+) terminal. Connect BLACK clamp to vehicle chassis or NEGATIVE (-) terminal, away from battery.
  3. Power On: Plug charger into a standard 120V AC outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
  4. Mode Selection: Press the MODE button to select battery type (Standard, AGM, Gel). The charger will auto-detect voltage.
  5. Charging: The charger will begin the multi-stage process automatically. Monitor the display.
  6. Disconnection: When charging is complete, unplug AC cord first, then remove BLACK clamp, then RED clamp.

CAUTION! Always connect/disconnect in the correct sequence to prevent sparks.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: POWER Button, MODE Button, ENGINE START Button, Digital Display.

Display Icons & Readouts:

Buttons: MODE cycles battery types. ENGINE START activates 75A boost for 5 seconds (hold button).

Charging Procedures

For different battery states and types.

  1. Standard Charging (Deeply Discharged): Use 75A or 30A setting. Charger will bulk charge until ~80%, then switch to absorption, then float.
  2. Maintenance/Topping Off: Use 15A or 30A setting. Process is faster.
  3. AGM/Gel Cell Batteries: MUST select correct mode via MODE button for proper voltage limits.
  4. 6V Batteries: Charger must auto-detect 6V. Ensure clamps are securely connected to 6V battery.
  5. Engine Start Assist: With charger connected and in 12V mode, press and hold ENGINE START button while attempting to crank vehicle.

Tip: For best results, charge battery at room temperature.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger switches to Float/Maintenance mode. This supplies a small, steady voltage (approx. 13.2V-13.8V for 12V) to keep battery at 100% without overcharging. Ideal for seasonal vehicles or long-term storage. The charger can be left connected indefinitely in this mode.

Error Codes & Diagnostics

The digital display will show error codes if a fault is detected.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Reverse PolarityCheck clamp connections. Correct to RED (+), BLACK (-).
E2Battery Voltage Too Low/HighCheck if battery is below 3V or above 18V. Battery may be damaged.
E3OverheatCharger is too hot. Allow to cool in a ventilated area.
E4Charging TimeoutBattery may not be accepting charge. Check battery health.
--No Display / No PowerCheck AC outlet and power cord connection.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe case with a dry cloth. Store in a cool, dry place. Coil cords neatly. Do not store in direct sunlight or where temperatures exceed 104°F (40°C).

CAUTION! Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners on the charger.
