Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger won't turn on | No power, blown fuse, faulty outlet | Check power source, test outlet, inspect fuse |
| No charging current | Bad connections, dead battery, wrong setting | Check all connections, verify battery voltage, confirm rate selection |
| Low charging rate | Sulfated battery, poor connections, weak AC power | Clean terminals, check voltage, try recovery mode |
| Overheating | Ventilation blocked, high ambient temperature | Ensure proper ventilation, move to cooler location |
| Ammeter not moving | Faulty meter, internal connection issue | Check battery voltage with multimeter, contact service |
| Spark when connecting | Battery short, wrong polarity, charger on | Always connect with charger off, verify polarity |
Charging Guidelines
- Fast Charge (6A): For standard automotive batteries - charge until ammeter drops to 1-2 amps
- Trickle Charge (2A): For maintenance and small batteries - can be left connected indefinitely
- Battery Types: Compatible with wet, AGM, gel, and maintenance-free batteries
- Charging Time: Typical charge time: 4-12 hours depending on battery size and discharge level
- Safety First: Always charge in well-ventilated area, keep away from sparks and flames
- Connection Order: Connect to battery first, then plug into outlet. Reverse when disconnecting.
