Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Working with batteries can be hazardous.

  1. Use in well-ventilated area: Batteries produce explosive gases.
  2. Wear eye protection: Shield eyes when working near batteries.
  3. Check battery type: For lead-acid, flooded, AGM, or gel cell. Not for lithium-ion.
  4. Disconnect AC power before connecting/disconnecting clamps.
  5. Connect clamps correctly: RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-) or grounded metal.

WARNING! Risk of explosion, electric shock, or fire. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries. Keep sparks and flames away.

Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure charger is off and unplugged.

  1. Prepare battery: Clean terminals if corroded. Ensure vent caps are tight (if applicable).
  2. Connect clamps: First connect RED clamp to battery positive (+) terminal.
  3. Ground connection: Connect BLACK clamp to vehicle chassis or engine block away from battery, or to battery negative (-) terminal last.
  4. Plug into AC outlet: Use a grounded 120V outlet.
  5. Select mode: Choose 2A, 10A, or 50A based on need.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps in reverse order. Ensure connections are secure and metal-to-metal.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front Panel: POWER switch, MODE button (2A/10A/50A), Display, STATUS LEDs.

Display Indicators: Battery Voltage, Charging (%), Fault Codes (E1-E5).

LED Status: POWER (Green), CHARGING (Flashing Green), COMPLETE (Solid Green), FAULT (Red).

Controls: MODE - cycles through charge rates. Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter Battery Recondition mode (if equipped). POWER - turns charger on/off.

Charging Procedures

For standard charging of a discharged battery.

  1. Ensure charger is OFF and unplugged from AC.
  2. Connect clamps as described in Installation.
  3. Plug charger into AC outlet.
  4. Turn POWER switch ON.
  5. Select charge rate: 10A for most automotive batteries.
  6. Monitor display: Shows voltage and charge percentage.
  7. Completion: Charger automatically switches to Float/Maintain mode when full. Display shows "FULL" or 100%.
  8. Disconnect: Turn POWER OFF, unplug AC cord, remove BLACK clamp first, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, use 2A mode initially, then switch to 10A.

Engine Start Function

Use 50A mode to provide a boost to start a vehicle with a weak battery.

  1. Connect clamps securely as in Installation.
  2. Plug charger into AC outlet.
  3. Set mode to 50A (Engine Start).
  4. Wait 2-3 minutes for charger to supply power to battery.
  5. Attempt to start vehicle. Crank for no more than 3-5 seconds.
  6. If engine starts, immediately turn charger OFF and disconnect clamps.
  7. If engine does not start, wait 3 minutes before retrying.

WARNING! Do not use 50A mode for continuous charging. For starting assistance only. Do not leave connected for more than 10 minutes.

Maintenance Mode

2A Trickle Charge mode maintains a fully charged battery during storage.

Connect as normal and select 2A mode. Charger will maintain optimal voltage indefinitely. Ideal for seasonal vehicles, boats, motorcycles. Display shows "MAINT" when in float mode.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth. Store in cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Keep vents clear of obstructions. Inspect cables regularly for damage.
