Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. This charger produces high currents.

  1. Use in well-ventilated area: Batteries generate explosive gases.
  2. Wear eye protection: Shield eyes when working near batteries.
  3. Connect to battery first, then AC outlet: Red clamp to POSITIVE (+), Black clamp to NEGATIVE (-) or grounded chassis.
  4. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  5. Keep charger dry; do not expose to rain or snow.

WARNING! Risk of explosion and electric shock. Follow all safety instructions. Do not disconnect clamps while charger is powered on.

First-Time Setup & Connections

Prepare charger and battery for initial use.

  1. Set battery selector: Choose 6V or 12V based on your battery.
  2. Set battery type: Select STD (standard flooded), AGM, or GEL.
  3. Connect clamps: Ensure charger is OFF and unplugged. Connect RED clamp to battery positive terminal. Connect BLACK clamp to battery negative terminal or clean, unpainted metal on chassis.
  4. Plug into AC outlet: Use a grounded 120V, 15A outlet.
  5. Turn charger ON: Press POWER button; digital display will illuminate.

CAUTION! Never connect clamps to each other. Ensure connections are secure and metal-to-metal.

Specifications

Display Icons: Battery % indicator, Charging/Complete/Fault status, Voltage/Amps readout.

Modes: Press MODE to cycle through CHARGE (2A/10A/50A), ENGINE START (100A), and BATTERY RECONDITION. Display shows selected mode, real-time amperage, battery voltage, and estimated charge percentage. ERROR codes: E1 (Reverse Connection), E2 (Bad Cell), E3 (Overheat), E4 (Overcharge Protection Activated).

Charging Procedures

For 12V Standard Automotive Battery (typical use):

  1. Ensure charger OFF and unplugged. Connect clamps correctly (Red to +, Black to -).
  2. Plug charger into AC outlet.
  3. Set Battery Voltage to 12V. Set Battery Type to STD.
  4. Press POWER. Display will show battery voltage (e.g., 11.8V).
  5. Press MODE to select charge rate: 2A (trickle), 10A (standard), or 50A (fast).
  6. Charger begins automatically. Display shows charging amps and increasing battery %.
  7. When fully charged, display will show "FULL" or 100%. Charger may switch to Float Mode.
  8. To disconnect: Press POWER to turn charger OFF. Unplug from AC outlet. Remove BLACK clamp first, then RED clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries (<10V), use Battery Recondition mode first to attempt recovery.

Engine Start Function

Use only for 12V batteries to jump-start a vehicle.

  1. Connect clamps to battery as in normal charging (Red to +, Black to - or chassis ground). Ensure vehicle ignition is OFF.
  2. Plug charger into AC outlet.
  3. Set to 12V and appropriate battery type.
  4. Press POWER, then press MODE until "ENGINE START" and "100A" appear.
  5. Wait 2-3 minutes for charger to supply power to battery.
  6. Attempt to start vehicle. Crank for no more than 5 seconds. Wait 3 minutes between attempts.
  7. Once vehicle starts, immediately press POWER to turn charger OFF.
  8. Unplug from AC, then disconnect clamps (Black first, then Red).

WARNING! Do not use Engine Start mode as a battery charger. Do not leave connected for more than 10 minutes without cranking. Risk of damage to charger or battery.

Maintenance & Storage

Keep charger clean and inspect regularly.

  1. Unplug and cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wipe exterior with dry cloth. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  3. Inspect clamps and cables for cracks, fraying, or damage.
