Safety Precautions

Read all instructions before use. Battery charging can be hazardous.

  1. Work in a well-ventilated area away from sparks or flames.
  2. Wear safety glasses and gloves when handling batteries.
  3. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC power before connecting clamps.
  4. Connect red clamp to positive (+) terminal first, then black to negative (-) or ground.
  5. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries.
  6. Keep charger dry and away from liquids.

WARNING! Risk of explosion or acid burn. Follow all safety instructions. Never lean over battery during charging.

Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place charger on stable, dry surface near battery.

  1. AC Connection: Plug power cord into grounded 120V AC outlet.
  2. Battery Connection: Ensure charger is OFF and unplugged. Connect clamps to battery terminals (red to +, black to -).
  3. For negative-grounded vehicles, connect black clamp to vehicle frame or engine block away from battery.
  4. Select battery type and charge rate using mode buttons.
  5. Plug in AC power. Charger will begin automatic detection and charging.

CAUTION! Do not connect clamps to each other. Ensure connections are secure and corrosion-free.

Charging Procedures

For optimal battery life and performance.

  1. Ensure battery terminals are clean and connections secure.
  2. Connect clamps correctly (red to +, black to - or ground).
  3. Select appropriate battery type and charge rate.
    • 2A: Maintenance/trickle charge for small batteries
    • 10A: Standard charging for most automotive batteries
    • 50A: Fast charge for deeply discharged batteries
  4. Plug in AC power. Charger will begin automatically.
  5. Monitor display. When "Complete" appears, charging is finished.
  6. Unplug AC power, then remove black clamp, then red clamp.

Tip: For deeply discharged batteries, use 10A mode initially, then switch to appropriate rate.

Engine Start Function

100-Amp mode for starting vehicles with dead batteries.

  1. Connect clamps as in normal charging (red to +, black to ground).
  2. Select 100A Engine Start mode.
  3. Ensure all vehicle accessories are OFF.
  4. Plug in AC power. Wait for "Ready" indicator on display.
  5. Attempt to start vehicle. Crank for no more than 3-5 seconds at a time.
  6. If vehicle doesn't start, wait 3 minutes before next attempt.
  7. Once started, immediately unplug AC power and remove clamps in reverse order.

WARNING! Do not use Engine Start mode for charging. Use only for starting attempts. Do not leave connected after engine starts.

Maintenance & Storage

Unplug and clean after each use. Store in dry location.

  1. Wipe exterior with dry cloth. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  2. Inspect clamps and cables for damage before each use.
  3. Check ventilation openings are clear of debris.
