Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Keep away from children.

  1. Use only with 12V lead-acid batteries. Do not use with non-rechargeable batteries.
  2. Work in a well-ventilated area; batteries generate explosive gases.
  3. Wear eye protection and avoid leaning over battery during connection.
  4. Ensure AC power cord is unplugged before connecting clamps to battery.
  5. Connect red clamp to positive (+) terminal first, then black to negative (-) or chassis ground.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock or explosion. Do not charge frozen or damaged batteries. Do not disassemble charger.

Product Overview

Front panel includes LED indicators: POWER (green), CHARGING (red), MAINTENANCE (green), FAULT (red).

  1. AC Input: Standard 120V AC, 60Hz plug.
  2. Output Cables: 6-foot cables with insulated clamps (red positive, black negative).
  3. Charging Modes: Automatic detection; switches between bulk, absorption, and float.
  4. Protections: Reverse polarity, short-circuit, overcharge, and over-temperature.

CAUTION! Do not expose to rain or moisture. Use on stable, non-flammable surface.

Specifications

Operation Guide

Automatic operation; no user settings required.

Steps: 1. Plug AC cord into outlet (POWER LED lights green). 2. Connect clamps to battery (see Connecting to Battery). 3. Charging begins automatically; CHARGING LED lights red. 4. When battery is charged, unit switches to MAINTENANCE mode (green LED). 5. Disconnect AC power before removing clamps.

LED Meanings: POWER (green) = AC power on. CHARGING (red) = Battery charging. MAINTENANCE (green) = Battery fully charged; maintaining voltage. FAULT (red) = Error (reverse polarity, bad battery, short circuit).

Connecting to Battery

For negative-grounded vehicles (most cars, motorcycles).

  1. Ensure charger is unplugged from AC outlet.
  2. Connect red clamp to positive (+) battery terminal.
  3. Connect black clamp to negative (-) battery terminal or clean metal chassis ground.
  4. Plug AC cord into outlet; POWER LED lights green.
  5. Charging begins automatically if battery voltage is low.

Tip: For positive-grounded vehicles, connect black to positive (+) and red to negative (-). Consult vehicle manual if unsure.

Charging Process & Indicators

Fully automatic; monitors battery and adjusts charging.

  1. Bulk Stage: Delivers 1.5A constant current until battery reaches ~80% charge (CHARGING LED red).
  2. Absorption Stage: Voltage constant, current tapers as battery nears full charge (CHARGING LED red).
  3. Float/Maintenance Stage: Battery fully charged; maintains at optimal voltage (MAINTENANCE LED green).
  4. Fault Condition: FAULT LED red indicates problem; unplug and check connections/battery.

WARNING! If FAULT LED lights, disconnect immediately and check for reverse polarity or damaged battery.

Maintenance Mode

After full charge, charger switches to float mode to maintain battery indefinitely. Ideal for seasonal storage. MAINTENANCE LED green indicates active. Can be left connected for months; automatically cycles to prevent sulfation.

Care & Storage

Unplug and disconnect from battery before cleaning. Wipe with dry cloth; do not use liquids. Store in cool, dry place in included storage bag.

CAUTION! Do not expose to extreme temperatures or moisture. Keep clamps from touching each other when stored.
